Next on our list of artists is our very own Estate Agent Charlotte
Constantakis. Born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas the artist, painter and accredited flower arranger finds beauty and inspiration in the serenity of the Family Islands. Picking up the brush in her teens, Charlotte always had a strong appreciation for art.
Her creativity shines through working with vibrant colours, Charlotte comments “I feel it is the first thing that attracts you to a piece of art.” She finds focusing on getting the right intensity and value of her colours one of the most rewarding parts of her work “It just takes my mind off of everything else.
When asked about a piece she’s proudest of, “I would have to say the painting of the Hope Town church,” she states “only because I started it years ago and never finished it until Covid-19 when I had the time, and also the childhood memories it brings back for me.”
Using mainly acrylics, one of the most important tools is her stay-wet palette. “Acrylic paint tends to dry out quickly so the palette keeps them wet longer during painting.”
Her suggestion for getting started is to do just that, start! “Just jump right in, you can only improve by practice and you have to start somewhere.”
