Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Trent Davis is a proud Bahamian son of the soil. The son and grandson of preachers, Reverend Davis’ journey has taken him both far and near. He began playing the piano at the age of 7 and by the time he was 13 was the church musician.
Davis is a graduate of Kingsway Academy class of 1987. He began his college career at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While at FSC, he was in the College Choir, the Yearbook Staff, a Head Resident Advisor and an appointed School Justice. He went on to study Chemistry at Tennessee State University, Nashville and Dental School at the Howard University School of Dentistry; Washington, DC. Davis holds an honorary Doctorate Degree from Southern Theological Seminary and has spent 15 years working in Washington, DC.
As a child musical prodigy, his talent for playing the piano has landed him on stages from Seoul, Korea to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; to just about every major European city including Brussels, London and Venice to name just a few. Davis has taught Music Appreciation in the District of Columbia Public School System with special emphasis on curriculum writing, where he received numerous awards as an instructor and choirmaster. Serving as Minister of Music for the Bethesda Baptist Church, Davis completed his first Compact Disc entitled, The Sunday Morning Experience. He became Interim Pastor of Gethsemane Baptist Church at the age of 25, moved on to be an Associate Minister at the Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church, and has preached extensively across the Metropolitan Washington, DC area.
In the spring of 2007, Davis decided it was time to come home. He has since begun pastoring alongside his father Bishop Ross Davis, at the Golden Gates World Outreach Ministries, where he serves as Senior Pastor and shares the preaching pulpit with his father. Davis has been the music adjudicator for the Bahamas' National Arts Festival, is a sought after youth speaker and has served the School Board of S.C. McPherson, Junior High School.
Additionally, Davis is a playwright and has co-authored several stage plays put on by his sister Lyn Terez Davis-Nixon, aka Dynamite Daisy. As artistic director, he has led both locally and internationally with her production company Dynamite Productions.
With deep roots and a passion for serving the community, Davis is now a licensed real estate agent with HGChristie Ltd. Well balanced and a natural leader, he can help guide you toward the best location for your needs and lifestyle. Trent looks forward to serving homebuyers, investors, sellers and families before, during and long after the sale.
Married to the former Novia Minus for more than 30 years, the couple has one son Jamal. Reverend Davis lives his life by the credo: It is better to be a standing follower than a fallen leader.
